This afternoon we had the BIGGEST hail storm I have ever seen.
It was horrendous!!
The hail was huge. And it was as if someone was just pelting round bits of ice out at us from out of the sky. The roof of our car is damaged with dents and even in some parts the paint has been scraped off where the hail has hit.
Most of our neighbours cars suffered damage as well (much worse than our car) and one poor neighbours front car window ended up smashed.
And it came out of no where. Was bright and sunny when I left for the school run and then it started to get darker and darker once we got home. I could hear what sounded like a distant drum beat and just thought it was thunder. But then as I listened I realised, ah, that's NOT thunder! It was the hail getting closer and closer. So weird.
Apparently our suburb and the surrounding suburbs were the worst hit!
Capri and Jamison (and the dog) were quite scared! And it was all very LOUD and horrendous!! And at one point I was sure the front windows in the loungeroom were going to be smashed in. The storm went on and on... Eventually it all passed and the sun came out but I can still hear thunder rumbling out there still.
Of course once the storm passed the neighbourhood kids had a ball collecting up the hail. We now have an ice-cream container full of hail in our freezer! [not sure what the kids think they are actually going to do with all that ice!]
Here's Jamison's collection..
And Idol last night was certainly another nerve wracking, nail biting verdict show. I was convinced Dean was a goner and was bracing myself for him to be voted off.
I had to play netball last night and had to leave right as the announcement was about to be made!! Talk about bad timing! So, because I am so pathetically addicted to the show I rang on my mobile and Jamison held the phone up to the TV so I could hear the verdict as I drove (I had my hands free phone of course as I was driving:)
I was shocked Ricky went. Not because I didn't think it was time for him to leave (as I did think it was time he was out!), but because I just was convinced Dean was gone.
And so of course I was quite relieved Dean gets another chance this Sunday. Whether he will stay in next week - I do hope so but I don't know. But I do also like Jess and then probably Damien would be my next choice. Whatever happens - this has been a great series of Idol! Loved every minute...
Anyway, I must keep moving..first online class for this series starts tomorrow!
And I am still organising the classroom!
