Two posts in one day. Yeah, I know. Unheard of for me.
Happy Mother's Day for yesterday everyone.
My day started early with FIVE of us in our bed!! It's been forever since ALL five of us have been in the one bed and I might say it was rather squishy. I dashed off to grab my camera, setting it on the ironing board which seems to be a permanent fixture in our bedroom lately, and used the camera timer to capture the moment on film!! Much to the horror of everyone. Lots of groaning and complaining about it ending up on that 'blog thing'.
But this photo was for just for us.
Just a little reminder to show how FULL the bed was and how grown up the kids are getting. But also how good it was that they all feel they can still jump on in there and say good morning!
So then Jammo thought it was be SOOOO funny to bring the dogs in. And like mad things they both came running in (the dogs that is;) and leaping onto the bed on top of everyone before we had time to stand clear.
Although Mojo, affectionately called Fatty these days, couldn't quite make the leap so all we could see at the end of the bed was this fluffy head popping up and down, up and down as he desperately tried to join in the frivolities.
And then the good morning all went pear shaped.
Jamison threw an overactive Mojo onto Brandt, still in our bed half asleep, one too many times and scored a punch in the leg and a string of abuse. Brandt scored a tirade of yelling and nasty words from Jamison. They both stormed out and I didn't hear from Brandt again for several hours as he went back to bed. Ken spilled porridge all over the kitchen bench and into the open cutlery drawer - and didn't we hear about it! And Capri burnt some of the pancakes.
Capri salvaged some of the pancakes for me. Ken cooked me porridge. And I had breakfast in bed, complete with fluffed pillows from Capri and the old stable table she dragged out from goodness knows where (we've had that thing for years and years!!!). She missed the Mother's Day stall this year as we were at the funeral and she was devastated but went out with Ken and bought me some scratchies and a magazine plus a lovely card. I also got a lovely (unexpected) framed photo of the family that Brandt organised.
And we had lunch at Mum and Dads.
All in all, a nice day.
Although the usual bickering and carrying on from the kids happened ALL day but that's life! Here's a pic of my mum with the kids. It took a LOT of effort to get Jamison in this photo as you can see by Blocker Ken on one end and Mum holding onto him as well.
Hope you all had a happy Mother's Day too.
