I usually run out of time to actually make anything for Jot Magazine but this time around I decided to try my hand at a few of the galleries.
Being our birthday issue, I decided to have a birthday gallery but mix it up a bit and have a FIRST BIRTHDAY GALLERY. None of my kids celebrated their 1st birthdays during my scrapbooking stage which means - very few photos!
Even first born Brandt, showered with attention being the first grandchild on both sides, doesn't have that many photos and he had a big family birthday party! Plenty of group shots and blurry shots and no photos of the birthday boy by himself or of his cake or his presents or anything else really!
I did however, find this one and only photo of Capri on her first birthday. One photo! That's it!
and a few closeups of the layering.. I went to town with layering on this one.
Next up was the STRIPES GALLERY
and a closeup - loads of stitching and a ton of patterned paper strips..
And then I tackled the Story Telling Gallery - this issue we featured winter stories and here's my layout of Capri all decked out in her ski gear ready for her school snow trip.
I use my Silhouette to create the circle background and added to my patterned apper background wityh foam dots to give it some dimension. So hard to photograph though!
And finally, the MEGA PHOTOS GALLERY
I have struggled to get a half decent shot of this one and realy, it's certainly not a favourite layout of mine by any means but it tells a really good story about our trip to the Grand Canyon..
I also whipped together these Project Life cards. My favourite thing to do lately! I whip up a little batch of these when I have a spare few minutes so they're ready to go when I'm ready to make a Project Life spread.
Kicking off on 6 July 2014 in our new Jot Classrooms. We've saved you a seat. Let's do this! BOOK HERE.
