Mum's The Word

MUM'S THE WORD - This is our Mother's Day workshop for 2010 and is a collaborative effort from fourteen of our very talented fifteen finalists we had in our recent search for a Support Team member for the @Home site.

The girls have created a wonderful range of projects and have joined forces with us here @Home to help fill our classroom to the brim with Mother's Day ideas. Running for the month of May and officially kicking off with our first project upload tomorrow, this online workshop is NOW OPEN FOR BOOKINGS.

Introducing our two new @Home Support Team girls

We are pleased to announce our two brand new Support Team girls are:

We are thrilled to have the girls join the @Home team!! ALL entries from our top 15 were of exceptionally high standard and it was a tough choice.

I didn't want to announce anything publicly until I had contacted each applicant by email. I hate sending out the sad emails but I am THRILLED to say that we are going to announce an exciting collaboration project from our Top 15!!

You will have to wait a short while though for the announcement until I hear back from all the girls! But it's exciting. It's fun. And our @Home participants will LOVE it.

THANK YOU again to everyone who took the time to enter - your work was beautiful and I look forward to working with some of you in the future on some Guest Workshops!

Finally!!!

I am thrilled to announce our @Home guest tutor is the very talented and lovely to work with LORRAINE VIDLER who joins our team for the very first time with her fresh and funky new online workshop Draw ME...Please!

So. What’s this class all about?

Well this workshop came about waaaay back in November at our @Home Retreat when Lorraine won our name badge competition with her gorgeously beautiful fabric name tag.

I loved the painted and stitched and padded “Self Portrait” of Lorraine, complete with funky glasses and beautifully shaded and toned hair! It was divine.

So then I got to thinking - I was keen to know how Lorraine created her little self portrait tag and IF I was keen to know then of course our @Home participants would surely love to know as well.

After some emailing back and forth Lorraine’s very first workshop - Draw ME…Please! came to life.

We're pleased to announce...

Well my intention to have a TOP 10 blew right out to a TOP FIFTEEN for the @Home comp. It was TOO hard to decide.

Do you know, I was just saying to the Support Girls that there wasn't one entry that we immediately knew wasn't right for our team. We really did take into consideration each and every entry.

It was lovely to read each entry and gain a bit more of an insight into who each of our applicants were, their thoughts, how they started out in this craft, who they mainly scrapbooked about and their other crafty interests etc etc... We visited blogs and checked out galleries and we all really enjoyed the process.

But then came the tough bit. 

Making a decision.

We ended up with a Top 15 (in no particular order) and I am thrilled to announce our @Home finalists are:

CONGRATULATIONS to all of our finalists. Each of the girls now move onto Round 2 where they have access to a private workshop and they will be busy bees and create samples for the class. We hope to announce our new team members around the 19 April 2010.

The other sad part is letting those unsuccessful applicants know they didn't make it to the next round. I HATE that part of the job. Its tough to tell people they haven't made it and I want them all to know it was a close decision and a tough one and we didn't take our judge-ly duties lightly. We received far more entries than we anticipated and the level of talent was very high.

Thank you to everyone who entered our comp...and we will announce our new team members very soon!

Looking for a someone...or two?

...to join our existing @Home Support Team.

Our SEARCH FOR A SUPPORT TEAM MEMBER (or two) COMPETITION is now officially open...

We need someone ASAP and we don’t want to drag this competition out for too long. Our aim is to find the right crafty person to fit our team:) Support Team members are responsible for creating additional samples to accompany each of our workshops and will also be given the opportunity of designing and teaching their own online workshops.

This isn’t the usual Design Team role – it takes someone unique to be able to follow someone else’s instructions but still provide their own twist to a project and inject their personality into someone else’s design AS WELL as also having the ability to design and run their own online class.

We are a close-knit, friendly team and we CAN'T WAIT to see who will join our team.

Interested?

APPLICATIONS CLOSE 31 MARCH 2010. A group of 10 finalists will then be chosen to participate in one of our online workshops and will have the opportunity to  join one of our online workshops and create an additional sample.

I will announce our new team members as soon as possible here on the blog and on the website.

YOU:2010 with Mel Nunn

You:2010 is a workshop designed to get you thinking about goal setting, personal reflection, who you are and where you're headed. It's all about YOU!

In this class Mel will take you through ways to set goals, make reflections and provide you with some fantastic journaling prompts and projects celebrating a very important person - YOU!

Together you will create a selection of carefully designed projects including a mini book, layouts and a journal cover. Projects will be uploaded over two weeks commencing 12 February 2010.

The Support Team girls join in the fun with lots of samples as well PLUS join Mel for a scheduled LIVE chat in the YOU:2010 classroom. Soon your albums will be brimming with layouts all about YOU.

In fact January has flown by and here we are already into the second week of February. We've been busy behind the scenes @Home and I can't wait to share all the lovely new classes and surprises we have planned for you all this year. I hope to have the batch of new classes up and running VERY soon so keep an eye here on the @Home blog or on the What's New section of the site for all the latest news.

I CAN reveal though that we have a wonderful team of guest tutors lined up with a FANTASTIC selection of fresh, new and exciting online workshops. There's been quite a flurry of activity here @Home. Wait until you see who is coming to teach for us over the next few weeks!

NEW WORKSHOPS

Our FIRST class for 2010 is our DECEMBER SNIPPETS workshop.

This class rounds off our Life Snippets 2009 journey and it's been a fun and rewarding series of classes AND we have ended up with a nice, bursting with goodness 2009 album of our year in photos. I LOVED seeing my album grow and I know so did LOTS of other girls and our Support Team girls.
