Already?
So where was I?
Oh yeah, the Easter Show. We haven't been to the show for years! And probably the last time was when Brandt was about 2 so the kids were VERY excited about going and had been saving their pocket money for weeks!
The day was long. And exhausting. We left home at 8am and got home at 11.15pm that night!
BIG day. But it was fun. We aren't a BIG rides family though I've decided.. There's something quite unnatural about being suspended in air, hanging upside down and then being spun out of control around and around at a high altitude!!!!
They loved the dodgem cars..and had several goes on them..
And they loved the showbags! I can't believe how many showbags people buy and then carry ALL day around the Show!! Not too mention the poor people who won things like GINORMOUS stuffed giraffes and then had to lug them around all day too.
Jamison chose the GAG bag as only Jamison could. It was filled with, as you would imagine..gag stuff! Like fake dog poo, fake vomit, sneezing powder, fake flies and a pen that makes rude noises when you write with it..(mmm, just like a whoopee cushion which was always my favourite from the showbags when I was a kid!) He was totally in his element!
Here's some more photos from the day..
Brandt spent a lot of time at a BMX exhibition and show and there were also some live bands playing so that kept him occupied!!
We had VIP passes for the night time show starting in the NAB arena at 5pm and then fireworks at 9pm. We were all exhausted by this stage but it was nice to sit for a while before heading home.
Some of the things people DO on motorbikes is amazing! Jumps. tricks. Spins. turns. Upside down stuff.. all the while riding a heavy MOTORBIKE! It was freaky! And very impressive. And their timing was spot on! And we watched some woodchopping. Rodeo stuff. And a game of polo! Not to mention the human cannonball! Mmmm. How does one discover they have the skill to be fired out of a cannonball!
We skipped the fireworks though and headed back to the shuttle bus which took us to the carpark. which led us to the car. which thankfully took us home.
And as I sat in the car(thank goodness Ken was right to drive), exhausted, with a blister on my little toe (very attractive), a throbbing headache and aching legs, I turned my head, with as much much energy as I could muster to be met with the following scene...
THREE exhausted, worn out but happy children all crashed out asleep already....Jamison with his Rustafarian(spelling?) dreadlocks wig on, his pull on fake tattoo sleeve on his arm and his fake sideburns stuck to either side of his face and Capri clutching her supersized glasses, all of her showbags and the stuffed dog she got in one of the bags! Quite a scene.
And I didn't have enough energy to pull out the camera one last time!
So the next morning I woke to find Jamison and Capri in our front loungeroom...with EVERY last thing out of all their showbags spread all over the floor so they could examine everything!

Please note the mismatched jammies on Capri - we were both too tired to find a matching pair the night before and Jamison's pull on tattoo sleeve, this time on his leg (which I must admit is pretty tricky!!) and that rustafarian hat and dreadlocks!!
They had a fun time!!
So, that was Saturday last week...the rest of the week???...well I will make a separate post for what we have done the rest of the time..!
