Show and Tell

Well we have been having a great time over at the @Home site in the January Snippets workshop. And now with February Snippets open, it's great to see so many joining in for February as well. Book in here:)

I have been taking lots of daily photos - I'm not as diligent as some of you who are managing a photo a day, although I wish I was.. But I am happy to say I am not too far behind. The Snippets class isn't really about having a photo for every single day. The monthly projects are designed to capture a snapshot or review of what you did, who you saw and where you went during each month.

Here's a few of my January/February photos..

February 5 - here I am with my lovely Canteen ladies. I am very fortunate to be on canteen with such nice mums every month..Leesa and Nat..at Capri's school.

Capri's been home from school sick with a sore throat and a cold.

And she made some of Janelle's infamous THREE INGREDIENT scones..

and our lovely neighbours gave us some homegown organic cherry tomatoes! Delicious.

Catching Up..

Well, with Kenny gone, it felt kinda sad to look out and see this..

No black and white amongst the sea of white fluffiness.

The next to leave us was White One.  Now this little fella was my guy. He was the very relaxed little dude who liked to stretch out on his back when he slept. (I shared photos of him in another post).

Check him out strutting along there proudly.

White One went off to live with Janelle's SIL and her family. They came out to visit us with their 3 year old little boy to choose a puppy a week before the puppies could leave home.

As soon as we went outside, White One came marching straight up to them as if to say, "Pick me. Pick me."

And they did.

Now their little boy had already chosen his puppy's name before they arrived and he was adamant that White One would be known as Woofy but he couldn't quite manage Woofy and he ended up calling him Woopie. But his mum liked Joe and tried to convince him that Joe would be a nice name.

After much debate, he announced that the puppy would be called WOOPIE JO!

Well we called White One Woopie Joe all week until Alisa and her family arrived to collect him and told us that they had finally settled on a name they all loved..and from here on in I am pleased to announce that White One/Woopie Joe will be known as BUZZ!

How cool.

Buzz has settled in beautifully in his new home and is well loved already!!

Before White One-Woofy Jo-Buzz left our home I took some photos of Capri with the last four puppies. All bundles of fluff and energy!

so cute...and they have been wonderful playmates for the kids!!

Our other little white one went to a new home on the weekend as well. A young family came and bought him as soon as they saw him. They wanted a white puppy and they didn't even look at any of the other ones!! And they took him home on Saturday afternoon.

They answered our ad in the paper so we didn't know them which means no little updates now and then:(

So now we have TWO characters left.

Banjo (named by Brandt) and Max (named by Capri). Both are gorgeous. I love their colouring...and their natures..both are lovely natured and so cute! We want to keep them both...

We had a lady who rang Ken asking about the puppies and she wanted us to email photos of the two puppies for her to see. She only lived in Maitland which is 20mins away so I don't know why she couldn't come and see them in person.

Annnyway, the day I took the photos it was SO windy and I was having a hard time getting any decent shots. Here's some of the photos...

In fact it was SO windy that Banjo couldn't keep his eyes open!

I did end up with some good shots though - not that it mattered because the girl didn't even bother to thank us or anything for sending through the images!!

We still have both little puppies as we completely forgot to run the ad again on the weekend. None of us minded..these little fellas are gorgeous and we have grown quite attached to them!!

Yes, exciting times here @Home..the lovely Mardi Winen makes her @Home debut with a GLORIOUSLY FUN AND FRESH workshop called SCRAPBOOK COOKING WITH MARDI.

In this workshop Mardi shows you how to make your own kit using supplies you already have on hand. Together you will then create FOUR layouts using your little custom designed kit. Mardi has lots of ideas, tips and things to share with you during this class.

A great idea and innovative workshop - wonderful for using up that scrapbook stash that you have!!

I am so excited about this one - I am doing some support samples for Mardi (yes the tables have turned!!) and I LOVE the projects and can't wait to dive into the samples. I just know you will LOVE the projects too.

Another Puppy Update

We're sad to say that Kenny has left the building.

Kenny was our first little puppy to go to a new home. He left last Friday - the 13th of February and indeed it was a Black Friday as we were all so sad.

But he's gone to a lovely new home and we have already had an update on his progress. A work colleague bought Kenny for her God children who are aged 8 and 10 and live about 30 minutes from us.

Ah Kenny. He was always such a character.  Always up for a rumble with the boys.

 

Never one to respect other puppies personal space.

And not one to conform...

He always stood out from the crowd..

And he always seemed to find a little nook to sleep in regardless of who may have already been there first.

Here's an extract from the update email we received at the beginning of the week:

"Kenny was greeted on Friday night by two very besotted children. He cried every hour on Friday night so the Mum of the house bought his bed of pillows, surrounded by stuffed toys into her bedroom so that she could reassure him. 

He got car sick on the way home so they did not take him out on the weekend but they will start taking him every where they go over the next few weeks. The children went to a BBQ on Sunday and when they came home Kenny had made his way upstairs and was asleep on “his bed” in their absence. They have taken photos and they will send them to me and I will forward them on.

Their cat Milly is decidedly put out. Kenny is still figuring out how to get up onto the lounge to chase the cat – that could get really ugly until he figures out that Milly is not very receptive to his concept of play.

All in all I think Kenny is going very well.

I hope all the other puppies are as loved and cared for as young Kenny. BTW they are keeping the name."

Victorian Bushfires

Tragic. Sad. So hard to comprehend.

i think many of us Australians are in shock as we all sit glued to the news reports and hear stories of courage and survival and stories of tragedy and loss. Prayers and thoughts for those who have suffered so much.

Some Snippety- Snippets

We've been busy, busy bees over at the @Home site. Our SNIPPETS class for January is about to kick off this week..here's a sneaky peek of just ONE of the layouts we will be making.

We're making a double layout but really, for those terrified of having to create a double, each page could be a stand alone layout which means you don't HAVE to make a double layout.

Alternatively, the very talented Mardi shows us how to convert the double into a very innovative single layout - wait until you see it!!

PLUS - we have an additional single layout where we focus on a particular event or photo from the month of January PLUS a bonus COVER PAGE for our Snippets albums.

So that's FOUR pages to get your Snippets Album started off in style!!

And this is Mel's first class with us as a Support Team member and you should see what she's come up!! It's just gorgeous. We're bursting to show you all the samples for this workshop!

Fooling Myself

I am fooling myself if I think I can possibly catch up on January news here on the blog anytime soon so I will just move forward with some more recent things and maybe when I have some spare time i can rewind and add in some past things!

So for now.

Currently.

I have a new iMac and I love it. I have the huge 24" monitor which I must admit gave me headspins when I first started using it last week. But now, in my newly cleaned, half organised office space I am a happy camper.

 

I added in some clipboards above my workspace to display my latest layouts and I covered a noticeboard with fabric which I still need to attach to the wall.

Kenny was sold on Sunday. He leaves us in a week. We're all sad. But happy he's going to a loving home where he will be treated like royalty.

 

He does have eyes there under that black batman mask! He's quite a character old Kenny..he's the only puppy who can climb up onto Mojo's trampoline bed and then does a little flying leap off it again. Such a daredevil. And he was the first puppy to climb the back step and get inside the house through our side door.

The first puppy to bark and promptly frighten himself at the noise he made. And the first one up for a rumble with any of the other puppies at any time of the night and day.

He's a champ!

A new team member!

Well my stats are through the roof so it seems there's a few people out there pressing that refresh button and waiting to see our big Support Team announcement over at the @Home site.. And we're ready now to reveal who our new team member is...

I'd like to officially announce that our brand new Support Team member is...

MEL NUNN

a new member?????

Hmmm..we are VERY excited to have a new team member joining our little @Home family...But you will have to wait a liiitttle bit longer for the big announcement...I am still putting the finishing touches on her ABOUT page on the site and also revamping the rest of our pages (nothing much to see just yet..only Janelle's page is finished - it's all being done offline)!!

In the meantime here's a little sneaky peek of her work... Yep, she's a stitcher AND a scrapbooker.  And she is just oozing talent! Plus she's just a really nice girl! We've been chatting and getting to know her over this past week..and we are bursting to make the announcement!!!!
