How this class came about:Some time ago I was asked to write an article for Scrapbook Creations based on creating layouts using my wardrobe and accessories as inspiration. I found this VERY amusing and even wrote back to the Editor to check that she was sure she had the right person and did she really did want ME to write this article.
She assured me she did.
I am hardly a fashionista. I am a jeans girl through and through. And my style is not inspiring or out there or cutting edge by any means. I am sure that the mums at my kids school see me coming for afternoon school pick up and think, "is she wearing that again!"
I initially thought, this will be interesting - how many layouts with denim can I create!
But once I started to search through my wardrobe I realised it didn't matter if my wardrobe wasn't super cute and trendy - there was still plenty of inspiration in there....
Like this tshirt...with a few sparkly gemstones on it..
inspired this layout of Capri and her friends.
and this beautiful Frilly Dilly bag from non other than the delightfully talented Janelle Wind..
inspired rows of fabric ruffles on this layout..
here's a closeup of the stitched ruffles..
and of course I couldn't NOT do a layout on denim..based on these Billabong jeans..
I stamped my title onto denim to create this layout.
BUT.
The real surprise for me came when I found this floaty, chiffon top with it's almost water colour painted flowery pattern ...
which led me to "discover" a fun way of adding watercolour type patterns to chiffon fabric for your layouts and projects..I came up with this layout for the article..which was definitely MY FAVOURITE!
and that led me to explore the idea further and develop a brand new class TO SHARE WITH MY Make Yourself @Home peeps..
And so the class was born.
Read more here.I LOVE how this class has evolved and can't wait to share it with you as well as the little video tutorial I have made AND all the samples from the Support Girls...
so come and make yourself @Home and we will *see* you in class:)
