hello.
My name is Kim. I live on the east coast of Australia in Newcastle with my husband Ken and three grown up kids Brandt, J and Capri + three little white dogs Roxy, Mojo and Dottie. I grew up in the country but moved to Newcastle for high school and while we also moved around when I left school and then again when we were newly married, we have called Newcastle home for the past 19 years now.
I've been blogging here since April 2005, taking a bit of a hiatus as I poured my energy into two online magazines elsewhere (more about those in a minute) and I've just returned to blogging this year - 2014. I missed not having a home to share my everyday moments, crafty projects and random thoughts and photos so it's great to be back.
From as far back as I can remember I have been creative and crafty. I studied grahic design when I left school and over the years I've been involved in many crafty enterprises.
I've designed and manufactured my own kidswear clothing label, Blair Kids. I've owned and operated a ceramic studio, designed my own ceramic kids and homewares line, Groovy Kids and then dived into the scrapbook industry in 2003 where I taught scrapbooking workshops locally as well as around Australia and New Zealand. I was one of the founders of papercraft company Urban Lily and I have written regularly for several scrapbooking magazines and also co authored Celebrate with the 2004 Elite Team book.
I've also taught many online workshops through my former online classroom on my Kim Archer @Home website.
Today.
I work full time as the publisher of the paper crafting, life documenting publication :: Jot Magazine and I'm also the creator of our membership site, The Jot Spot and lifestyle/craft magazine Etzcetera.
I could not be happier with my job. I'm passionate about memory keeping, paper crafting, Project Life and documenting the everyday and I also love design, photography, connecting with others and story writing. My job allows me to do all of that which is really awesome.
I so appreciate that you have popped in here for a visit. I love reading your comments - it makes my day! Any questions, don't hesitate to ask me.
